White Cross Canada

Our Team

White Cross Canada Staff

Keir Hammer, Director

Keir is on medical leave since October 2018, when White Cross Canada was operated by Taylor Seminary. For more information about him, please contact Taylor Seminary.

Ai Hayashizaki, Administrator

Growing up in a diverse mix of cultures in Japan, Singapore, and Indonesia, Ai has been involved in intercultural communication and missions. With her passion for poverty alleviation through Christian community development and education, she has worked with White Cross Canada since 2018 and covered the Director’s daily tasks during his leave.

Outside of the office, Ai is a knowledge hoarder, playful cook, and health & exercise enthusiast.

National Shipping Centre - Core Volunteers

Bert Harsch, Volunteer Coordinator

Coming from a pastoral background, Bert has served as the Volunteer Coordinator at White Cross since 2013. He cannot help but be excited when meeting people at the Centre and showing people how God has been working in this ministry.

Bert and Myrna, his wife, are both involved with this ministry since moving closer to the Centre. They take advantage of the proximity to flexibly arrange deliveries and workdays. He is the one who handles every pound of the boxes & arranges every volunteer that comes to the Centre!

Alfred Krinke, Shipment Coordinator

Alfred was one of the leading members of White Cross Canada when NAB White Cross partitioned into the US and Canadian parts. Knowing the history, heart, and people of the ministry, he has contributed to White Cross Canada in various capacities. As the Shipment Coordinator, he communicates with our primary partners regularly and organizes preparation of container loading. While you might not see him at every workday, he is the one who connects people behind the scenes with gratitude and gentleness.

Ursula Ruediger

Bethany Baptist Church, Richmond

My friend Joan R. and I have been involved  with White Cross since the 70s and there are wonderful people (members and friends) who are faithfully cutting, sewing, rolling and knitting for the  children in Cameroon. We are really blessed here.

Bill Kauffeldt

Terwilliger Community Church, Edmonton

I am blessed in being part of the team that preps donations from our NAB churches for shipping and then helping to actually load those onto the shipping container. These opportunities have given me a greater appreciation for the many faithful servants in our churches who have spent hours preparing all that we are able to send to the Mission Field.

White Cross has been part of my life as long as  I can remember. My mother was a true example to me as I can still see her sewing, cutting up old bedsheets, etc. for White Cross.

 Joanne Hartwig

Our group has sewn and sent blankets and layettes, etc. for decades.  We had White Cross work nights once a year with our WM and then another night when we packed our boxes to ship.  I have participated in cutting squares and long  bandages, packing and mailing shipments.
